TROPICAL & HARDY WATER LILIES
TROPICAL WATER LILIES can bloom during the day or night,
and are the only group to contain blue-flowered plants.
Tropical water lilies will usually have significantly more blooms
than hardy lilies and their flowers open on a stem suspended above the water.
HARDY WATER LILIES only bloom during the day and have flowers that open flush to the water.
They will survive over the winter in the Southwest, although they typically die back.
If the lily pad is variegated it will be more shade tolerant, unlike most hardy lilies,
which require a minimum of 6 hours of sunlight each day to flower.
