TROPICAL WATER LILIES can bloom either during the day or at night, and are the only group to contain blue-flowered plants.
Tropical water lilies will have significantly more blooms per plant than hardy lilies.
On average there are 5-9 pads per tuber, and 2-6 blooms.

HARDY
HARDY WATER LILIES bloom only during the day. They will survive over the winter in the USA. They bloom during the day while the suns out. If the lily pad is variegated it will be more shade tolerant.
Most hardy lilies require a minimum of 6 hours of sunlight each day.
