Mammillaria spinosissima Un Pico is a stable gentic mutation in which features a single spine from each areole. Some spineless areoles are also possible. These plants can be solitary or slowly clumping.

Their color is a dark green-blue, and specimens usually stay under 30 cm in height, and less than 10 cm in diameter. Mammillaria spinosissima Un Pico flowers in a halo ring, with blooms of purple or red.

This is an excellent cactus for container growing! Its small size, unique look, and easy care make this plant a popular choice!

Much like most other cacti species, use a pot and soil with good drainage. Water more frequently in summer months, but avoid the soil being too wet for too long, as the roots are susceptible to rot. This plant can take direct sun, filtered sun, and afternoon shade, but of course, too much direct sun can lead to sunburn. However, the plant tends to bronze in strong light, which actually encourages the plant to produce more wool and even bloom!
