Trichocereus macrogonus var. pachanoi, commonly known as the San Pedro Cactus, is a species of columnar cactus found natively throughout South America.
This species is fast-growing, and is actually one of several kinds of cactus known as the San Pedro cactus. Trichocereus macrogonus var. pachanoi normally have multiple branches, and reaches heights of 10 to 20 feet. The tallest recorded specimen reached a height of 40 feet!
Fun Fact: The San Pedro cactus has been used traditionally going back 2,000 years! It is named after Saint Peter, known to hold "the keys to heaven", as this cactus can, supposedly, give users a heaven-like effect.
