Nymphaea “Panama Pacific” Day blooming Viviparous. Will over winter in zones 9 to 11. Plant size is Medium. Flower is a cup shape purple, 4” to 7” across. Leaves are green 3“ to 12“ across. Has a 2.5’ to 8’ spread. Best to grow in 6” to 18” of water. Flowers are very fragrant and stand well above the waters surface. You can grow this one in a one, two or three gallon container. Good for earthen ponds as well. Panama Pacific’s are very popular because of the purple blooms. This is one of the most dependable water lilies out there. It freezes here about 40 to 50 times a year and Panama Pacific’s will still bloom all winter long for us. This is a must have water lily, will out rank all water lilies because of beauty, longevity and hardiness. Will tolerate shade especially in hotter climates. Best to grow in full sun. Another tropical that thinks it’s a hardy.
